Announcer: The Israel-US Chamber award for promoting the US in the energy field goes to Petco International. Petco International was founded in 1981 to address the energy needs of the Med' region in general and in Israel in particular. It has contributed to the expansion of American companies doing business in Israel on various projects with an emphasis on clean environment and the creation of hundreds of jobs.
This award, in appreciation of Petco’s initiation and success in bringing US corporations such as Consol Coal, Woodgroup and Excellerate Energy, which has chosen to enable the importation of liquid natural gas to Israel and serves as the emergency storage for natural gas for the future. The project is the first of its kind in the natural gas market; one that is bringing savings of millions of shekels.
